The Doomsaying Experts

When I was in junior high school,
some teachers told me
and the others in my class
that over-population
was such a problem
that by the time
of the year 2000
we would be packed in
like sardines
with about a foot
of space
for all of us,
and this scared me
and the others in my class,
so then when the year 2000
rolled around,
I remembered the expert teachers
and decided then
that the doom-saying experts
are full of shit
most of the time,
because in life
most of the time

nothing really happens.
